When it comes to omnipresent technology, there are many questions we need to as because they are used frequently in our lives. These technologies are inevitably going to be a part of our lives so we should have a say in what goes into the creation and the evolution of them. Michelfelder says “
The public needs to be more involved with technology not merely as thoughtful consumers but as active participants in its design” (273). When we are active participants in the creation there are fewer ethical situations that may come up with the use of the technologies. When there are fewer eyes on the creation, there may be ethics that pushed aside due to personal gain like the selling of data.

It is worrisome that ethics may be brushed off with the creation of these new technologies we are still evolving and shouldn’t be more restrictive. In the Ted Talk with Cynthia Breazeal, she had many great accomplishments of the robots she was building. As robots may seem scary, these technologies may help us further evolve AI. One example from the robots they were creating was a diet and coach robot that helped people keep and maintain their lost weight.

As we progress with the evolving technologies and AI, there are many connections people are making with them. I have many Alexa products and feel that sense I use the product constantly there is still room for improvement. I know a couple of new products have just come out but there is always room for improvement with these newly evolving technologies. I also have an iRobot Roomba, and I know that there are many safety concerns with the intake of my data. It’s a difficult topic because I know that I have these devices that can listen to me 24/7, and that is mapping out my home. On the other hand, these devices are starting to seamlessly integrate into our daily lives, and it would be hard to stop using them.
